DESCRIPTION:On April 2\, 2019\, many across the country rallied their communities to highlight Equal Pay Day\, the symbolic day that marks the point in the year at which women's earnings will finally "catch up" to what men earned in the previous year alone. What this masks is the racial gender pay gap -- the even wider pay gap most women of color face in their careers. Black Women's Equal Pay Day\; it isn't until August 22nd. That is more than four months later. To move pay equity forward for all women\, we must acknowledge and center the unique experiences women of color face and match what men earned the previous year\, representing a 39% pay gap. Regardless of their occupation\, level of education\, or years of experience\, black women are still paid less. The time for change is now.\n\nJoin The Riveter in acknowledging Black Women's Equal Pay Day with a networking breakfast of lightning talks from powerhouse black women professionals who will share strategies and tactics on how to:\n\n\n	\n	Establish the tone of who you are as a professional\n	\n	\n	Negotiate a compensation package (not a salary)\n	\n	\n	Manage performance and job scope creep\n	\n	\n	Make the case for a promotion\n	\n	\n	Find the path to C-Suite\n	\n\n\nThis event is ideal for black women mid-career professionals and their allies (including men and gender nonconforming individuals) for black women in work and equal pay across industry and seniority.
